Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

becoming legally emancipated under age

I am 16 years old and have a place other than my parents house to stay, a part-time job soon, and financial support from the people i am wanting to live with( i only have to pay for my food).I am wondering is there any way for me to become legally emancipated in georgia at the age of 16. My mother is a BIG verbal abuser and has brought in drunk boyfriends that have lived with my little brother and I for long periods of time, that have physically and mentally abused me (though she has not had anyone live with us for over a year i still figured i could bring that up in court)

Well i hope someone will email me back or something soon please please please. [email protected] thanks for your concern

Re: becoming legally emancipated under age

Emancipation in Georgia is very rarely granted. It would be extremely difficult to prove what you said, unless there have been criminal charges or a DFCS investigation.
