Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Okay Lets try this again.. can you legitimate and child and divorce the father at the same time. the children were born before we were married and we have never legitimated the children.. we married a year ago the oldest child is 4 and the youngest is 2... I want to do an uncontested divorce but want the father to pay child support and have visitation... can this be done in the filing of the complaint for divorce and the final legitimating language being added to the final degree of divorce or do you have to file two separate actions

Marriage to the father automatically legitimizes children.

Legitimation is unnecessary since it occurred automatically upon marriage to the father. You can simply move forward with the uncontested divorce. Please feel free to give my office a call with any additional questions you may have. We would be happy to assist you with your divorce which in most cases can be done in 45 days or less.
