i live in ga. my son is 7 months old. haven't spoke to the father since oct 09. we have child support court on Thursday. dna was proved. what would he have to do to get visitation or any custody rights in the state of ga? is a child support DNA considered proof of legitimization?

To legitimize a child you have to file a case in Superior Court, and you should get a lawyer.

If the child support hearing is being handles the Ga. Department of Human Resources' Child Support Services Unit, then the father is barred by law from asking the court to grant him parental rights as part of the child support proceeding. As pointed out by Mr. Ashman, the father would have to bring a legitimation action in the Superior Courts and, if the court grants his request for legitimation, then he would have to make claims to establish custodial and/or visitation rights.
