Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I live in the state of Georgia and I filed for a divorce against my husband in November 2009. We have been living separately since June 2010. In November 2010, my husband inheritied his deceased father's home in Louisiana. Am I entitled to this inheritance?

You haven't told us what state the divorce was filed in.

But if the case was in Georgia the answer is no, but maybe.

The inheritance is his separate property - hence the no.

Now the maybe, and this depends on how good your lawyer is. If you don't have a lawyer, get one. The inheritance improves his financial picture making him more able possibly to pay alimony or less liukely to need other marital property.

In other words, to repeat, get counsel.
