I lived in Ga. at the time of my divorce and live here in Ga. now. My ex husband lived in Fl. when we got a divorce but lives in Ga. now.We got a divorce in Fl,six years ago. My ex husband was ordered to pay alimony. He stopped paying me in Dec. Can you please lead me in the right direction to receive some help to try to get him to pay me.I can not afford an attorney and I'm not sure what forms I need to fill out and the correct procedure to follow to take him back to court.Thank you...Sheila Burch

You need to domesticate your Florida order and file a contempt against it. I do not believe there are forms for this.

You will need to (1) domesticate the order in Georgia, and (2) then file contempt. This is really not a do it yourself project and I know of no forms to domesticate a foreign judgment (a few courts, such as Fulton, do have a contempt form if you're dead set on being pro se). Note that you can seek attorneys fees in the case if you do have counsel.

You really should get counsel, but if you don't, at least pay a lawyer for a couple hours time to coach you and to prepare papers to domesticate the judgment. It would be a huge mistake to overlook this necessary step.
