Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Not living up to her end

Me and wife divorced and it went to court on May 27th. She remarried on June 27th. We were self seperated since november of last year. She accumulated 30,000 in debt over our 3 year marriage. How can i get this modified. During seperation she used some of the credit to live off, also she will provide me with no statements or proof of payment and is not paying from the specified account. So I have no record of whats going on. Her and new husband are living the good life while I am close to losing my home what can I do? Can I also cease further payments since none of the debts are being paid from the account stated in the divorce decree that they are to be paid from? I do not wish to be homeless while the money for debts is being spent the wrong way. All she will tell me is she is making minimum payments and that is it.

Re: Not living up to her end

Property and debt settlements and orders, once final, cannot be modified.

If she is in violation, that can be enforced via contempt and the best person to talk to would be the lawyer who represented you in the divorce.

If you violate the divorce decree you can be found in contempt.
