Can't ,make contact with attorney

I paid my attorney$ 1700. up front for a contested divorce. It has been 6 weeks and I have not been able to get in touch with him. He will not return my phone calls or emails. Can I request a refund of my money, and if so, how do I go about it since we don't communicate? I have only had my initial consultation with him, no other communication.

You may need to communicate with your attorney in writing via certified mail/return receipt requested. If you and your attorney are not able to work out an arrangement that is satisfactory, then you will need to request your file so you can take it to the next attorney that you employ. If your attorney won't call you, make a bar complaint by calling the state bar of Georgia.
