Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I was married in Illinois in 2006. I recently moved from Illinois to Georgia, but my wife and I had divorce paperwork notarized before I left. Do I have to physically go back to Illinois to file or could I file from Georgia?

You obviously cannot file Illinois papers in Georgia, and since you don't live in Illinois, it is likely your paperwork is useless there (you'd need a lawyer there to review that question).

Once you have been in Georgia six months, see a lawyer to file here.
