Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Married in Jamaica - no signature in U.S.
While living in GA I was married in Jamaica. I was later told that we were supposed to have signed something when we got back but we didn't. Beacause of this we supposedly were never legally married? We have been seperated for 3 yrs and I am remarrying. Am I still married or not? If so, what do I do?

There is nothing to sign in Georgia if you are marrid out of Georgia. Georgia recognizes the lawful marriages of any other jurisdiction, so if you married according to Jamaican law, you need a divorce.

I agree.
A valid Jamaican marriage is honored in the U.S. What you may need is an equivalent of a certified copy of the marriage certificate. THis will be needed to file for a divorce action.
I am wondering who told you that you needed a signature. An examination of the Jamaican marriage certificate will enable an attorney to see if it was valid.
It may be that your spouse is feeding you inaccurate information.
