while married my wife was injured by a hospital. she has sued and is now getting a large malpractice suit. we split up this week. am i entitled to any of it?

You did not provide enough information to respond. There are several factors that play into being awarded a portion of a settlement, such as financial impact on marriage, was the resulting medical issue a cause of the separation, loss of consortium, etc. The pain and suffering portion of the award/settlement is not marital. I do not believe a website is the best place to obtain this information. As one of you may be filing for divorce, I suggest you immediately meet with an attorney.
