Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
I've been married for 29 years,in a few months we will be seperating, what's the difference in just seperating and legal seperation? also if this leads to divorce does it matter who files first? And last, what are my spousal rights in the state of Georgia? in all this time i have not worked what would be considered fulltime, i have started a small business but am not earning enough to take of myself, my husband is still employed on his job for about 18 years could i be entitled to alimony?

Georgia does not have legal separations.
You can seek alimony either by filing for divorce or by filing a separate maintenance action. In either case, you should talk to a lawyer and determine what rights you may have. From the limited information you gave, you certainly may have potential claims to alimony, your husband's assets and retirement, etc. and you want good legal advice.
It would be very wise to see a lawyer now and not just wait to se what your husband does.
An attorney will need to have more information in order to give you advice that is on point. Employing an attorney as early as possible may maximize your potential to attain your goals and help you avoid costly errors produced by unguided conduct.
