Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Do I have any means of getting equity out of house

Husband said he is selling house in March. I have been married for 8 years lived together for one year. House belonged to him before marriage. Can I hope to get anything out of the house if he sells it and leaves me? Can I do anything(like new plumbing or rewiring the house) before March to insure that I am not left out in the cold with nothing. I reside in

Georgia.

Thanks

Yes, the value added to the marital residence that comes from more than just the normal economic forces is marital property. Thisngs such as improvements to the residence and payments on the mortgage during the course of the property improve the spouses marital position in the property.
