Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

mental abuse

I have been with my husband for 3 years. We have only been married for 10 1/2 months. We were engaged when we bought our house, it is in his name, but I paid the utilities up until he said for me to stop and that he would take care of them. Now we are going to get divorced, he has been very mentally cruel to me and I have been suffering with depression because of him. He said he is selling the house and I would not get a dime out of the house. am I entitled to any money when he sells the house. He promised me money for my car, to pay it off at one time and now he does not want to give me anything. If I ask for half of the proceeds to the house, will i get it ?

Re: mental abuse

You need to get an attorney. He/she can file a document known as a "lis pendens". This will prevent your husband from selling the house until your rights are resolved in the divorce proceeding.
