Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I am in the military and my wife has twin boys with another guy before we got together. She was never married and currently has custody and he has joint legal custody. He has just recently joined the military almost a year ago. Now the custody paperwork was done in the state of GA but JAG on post has told us that once he joined the army he is now thrs. So GA doesnt really have to much to do with it anymore. Jag forced him to start repaying his child support after he stopped. The reason he stopped is because we needed him to sign our kids passports in order to move to Germany. So he signed a piece of paper saying he no longer had to pay. Well once we mentioned this to JAG bc of other issues we were having with him, they said he is now part of the Army. Well he has recently stopped paying again claiming that his JAG office told him that the cannot cross that line with GA. But that wasn't what our JAG office said. Our JAG office informed us about a "FOUR CORNER" rule, meaning that the court order from GA doesn't in anyway state that we cannot pursue other means of filling for child support from him. So our Jag office says that through the Army it doesn't state that we cannot go through JAG.

It's obvious from your post that your wife should have long ago obtained a lawyer (going to see the JAG folks is a very poor substitute for representation in a domestic case).

The Army has to honor a child support order. JAG has no legal right to amend or change an order. If JAG won't honor the child support order, file a contempt against the biological father.
