Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
minor child traveling to relatives
My son is traveling to visit his aunt and uncle in Georgia. He is eleven. I will be sending his medical insurance card ''just in case''. Is there something i need to send with them to have temporary guardianship of him while he is there. In case they need to act on his behalf i need them to be able to.

Re: minor child traveling to relatives
There is no such thing as a temporary guardianship that anyone can prepare without going through the Probate Court. I would suggest that you get a Durable Healthcare Power of Attorney, which would allow your designee to make medical decisions in the event your child was involved in an accident. I would also give some thought to a General Power of Attorney. I think you should consult with a local attorney.
