Minor's Name Change

I was just wondering what I have to do to change my daughters last name. Her father's name is not on the birth certificate, and he has no involvement with her. Will it be a long legal process?

The father still is involved. He must either consent or must be served and that affects both the expense and length (and success rate) of the process.
