Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Missing my son
I recently got divorced last year but since I couldn't afford a lawyer I was pretty much tricked into signing the divorce papers which states that I have to pay child support and he gets to claim him every year on taxes and hes primary parent. Well I've fell on hard times and can't pay support at all. Well since I can't pay by ex has decided to keep our son from me. He told me that he has taken me off the list to pick him up from school and if I attempt to go get him he will take a warrant for non support.
Also he has used our son social security number before and I have the paperwork from the courthouse to prove it. When I confronted him about it he stated that the judge would throw it out because he would say its for the betterment of the family. I mean I'm not rocket scientist but isn't that considered identity fraud and isn't that a felony? He also works on computers on the side and a friend told me she has a computer with a certain county tag on it which is also a felony right.

You really answered your own question. If your child matters to you, you'll make him a priority and find the money - be it by borrowing, a second job, or whatever - to get a lawyer. As you found out, a person without a lawyer in a divorce is rather like an unarmed man in a wild west gunfight.
There is no way someone can evaluate your options without review o9f your papers, but the one thing that is clear is that you need to meet with counsel.
