Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Missled about Marital Status of Fiancee

I am wanting to know if I have any recourse to file a claim against my x-fiancee. We got engaged over a year ago and bought a house. It's in his name. After moving in together I found out that he was already married after asking time and time again if he were. You see, he spend the weekends with me and supposely stayed with his son and his wife on week days. His wife called my number one day and told me the truth. After that, the promised of a divorce that never came and also I became infected with the herpes virus. Which he denies having. I feel first of all betrayed and second deceived. There has also been verbal abuse. Is there any legal action I can take against this man. I moved out of my apartment and withdrew money from my retirement account to help with the closing cost of the house thinking we had a future together.

Yes, I need more info, but I think you would have a cause of action against him to recover damages. The tort claim might be one for fraud, misrepresentation, or others. Depending on the facts, he might be guilty of criminal fraud also. You need to consult with a local attorney.
