Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Modification of Child Custody- I want my daughter back

My divorce with my ex-husband was finalized in 11/2005. He got physical custody because he had a lawyer (I didn't), he lived with his parents (I was on my own), and he had a job (I wasn't working because I couldn't afford childcare). Before our separation, he cared nothing for our daughter; after he got custody, his parents are the primary caregivers. I will be leaving GA in less than 2 years, and I want my daughter with me. I was her sole caregiver before the divorce, and I truly believe she will be happiest and best cared-for with me. What steps should I take to getting her back?

You should consult with a local attorney. It may be possible to get a modification of the final decree.
