Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Modification of Spousal Support
I have been paying $100/wk in alimony to my ex-wife. We have an uncontested divorce and I did not have a lawyer. She gets $240/wk in child support for our 2 boys also. I have never been late or missed any payments. She did not work for awhile and when we got divorced. However, she has been working now for over a year. I want to file a Motion for Modification of Spousal Support to eliminate the $100/wk now that she is working. I am unable to hire a lawyer as it is extremely expensive. I have to work 60hrs per week in order to bring home any money at all since $340 is automatically deducted and goes to her. Thank you for your help. I am trying to file this with the court myself but need the right forms.

Re: Modification of Spousal Support
There are no "forms" for this. You can try to do it yourself. However, because of the long-term effects of the outcome, I would strongly suggest that you at least consult with a local attorney.
Re: Modification of Spousal Support
I would not suggest attempting the modification without an attorney. However, if you have no choice, try legal aid or the clerks at the courthouse of your county. There are no right forms.
