Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Money awarded not paid

In my divorce in 2005 I was awarded half my exhusbands retirement. He has not complied with the judges complete instructions. The retirement money was to come to me through his employer. Presently he sends only about one third of the money and that money is late every time. My lawyer says she will revisit the case with a $1200 retainer. Is there any less costly way to get what I rightfull deserve. I am financially and emotionally drained.

Re: Money awarded not paid

You can take him to court for contempt. Call around; many lawyers will take these cases for little money up front, if they are convinced they will get a court order for attorneys fees, which is normally granted.
