Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

The mother of my baby pulled a knife out on me and sat our baby outside should i press charges . I dont want them to take my baby from me?

Pulling a knife on you is a crime unless you was defending herself from you.

It is a tough decision, especially if you haven't legitimated the child. Without legitimation, you don't have any rights to the child. Also, if the mother is arrested or ordered to stay away from you, she can keep the child away from you. You would not be entitled to visitation.

Even if you don't seek to press charges, protect your rights by legitimating the child.

If you've already gone through this simple process, it should make it easier for you to contact the police. If the mother is arrested, seek custody or visitation.
