Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

The mother of my child born out of wedlock is taking me back to court to increase her child support. She already gets $1100.00 a month. The original case was set in Tennessee, she has since moved her and the child to Alabama. But she is going through the state of Tennessee to take me back to court. I live in Georgia. Is this legal? Should it be transferred to Alabama?

You need to address your questions to 1) YOUR lawyer, or 2) lawyers in Tennessee where the case is pending.

Unless you are not doing what you should have done, you already should have hired a lawyer. When parties move from state to state, sometimes the original state retains jurisdiction (and sometimes not). These are issues that your lawyer, who has seen the papers, will know.

No one here has read the papers.

If you do not have a lawyer, you need one.
