Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Right of the mother without her kids
After being married for 7 years.. i finally got to the point where i could not take it any more, so when I found what i thought was a way out of the situation..turns out i was wrong..I up and left..was unsure of where I was going to be staying at the time I left, so I left the kids with him--a more stable situation..First..was that wrong to do?Second.. what rights as their mother do i have when we do get divorced?I mean what right(s) do i have to get the kids other than what the paper we signed..that I did not see being signed by a witness..paper stating that he could have custody of the kids and I can call them whenever i want to, and see them whenever i get the chance to get up here. And i get to have the kids everyother weekend, and can take them to my family's holiday get togethers.I am living with my parents and have recently started a job so that i can save up some money and try to make a fresh start.?Another thing, should we -legally speaking- file for a legal seperation first before we file for divorce? We are planning on fileing for an uncontested divorce..so what legal steps should we take to file that type of divorce?

Georgia does not have legal separations.
You need to see a lawyer IMMEDIATELY so you can protect your interests.
