Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
The mother of my nephew wants to grant me full custody of my nephew because she cannot provide for the child both financially and emotionally. The father (my brother) is in prison and does not figure on the birth certificate as the father; the child carries the mother�s last name. The child is in a bad environment and I want to provide for my nephew both financially and emotionally. The mother is willing to give me the rights. I am in Georgia and she is in New York. The reason I want full and sole custody is so that the parents cannot take the child out of the positive environment that I will provide for him, Marcus is nine. I need to get him out fast and stand strong legally. Can you help?
