Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My Mother has had temporary custody of my son for three years. Now I'm finally back on my feet and I was wandering what is the best thing to do from here. Also she will not let me see him and I was wandering is that even possible? What do I do about that as well. there is no love loss between her and I and she has taken my son as her own so it could get messy.

I assume your question is "how do I get custody of my son back." If you believe there has been a material change in your circumstances, you may be able to file (depends on a few things) a petition to modify the custody order with the court. In that petition you would say whey there has been a material change, why it would be in the best interest of your son for you to have custody or visitation rights, etc. The Court will set a hearing date. The Court may also appoint an independent Guardian Ad Litem to perform an investigation and advise the Court on whether it is in the child's best interest for you to re-enter his life. I would STRONGLY recommend that you retain a Georgia family law attorney before you head down this path. Best of luck.******The above does not establish an attorney-client relationship and is intended for informational purposes only.******
