Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I moved from GA to KS 10-16-12 leaving a abusive relationship with my 12 mos old son. I was served yestereday with a Petition for Legitmation , custody /visitation from moy sons father forbidding me to leave the state of GA. He is seeking full custody and child support. DO I have to respond to this, if so how long do I have to respond and do I need an attorney?
