Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Moving out of state with sole legal and physical custody

I have moved on with my life as well as my ex husband. The man I've met and plan to marry is living in South Carolina and I want to move with my son there. My problem is that my exhusband is saying he will not allow me to move. i have sole legal and physical custody and visitation at my discression. Can he keep me from moving out of state. i know i have to inform him in writing of my planned move at least 30 days in advance but can he stop me and how do i avoid it if he tries. My ex has controled me for way to long and i just want to be happy...what are my legal rights? and can I move without losing my son?

It is impossible to give you reliable advice on this without being able to review your divorce documents. You should consult with a local attorney. Having said that, unless the documents say to the contrary, my first impression is that there is no way he can prevent you AND your son from moving to SC.
