Divorces are NOT run in the paper simply because people are in different states.

Start by getting a lawyer to do it properly.

I do not understand the question. To get divorced, one of you has to have lived in Georgia for at least 6 months. Once the divorce complaint is filed, it has to be served on the other party. An address for the other party is needed and will make things less expensive. If you do not have it, you are going to have to try to serve anyway at the last known address. With the age of the internet, people cannot stay hidden for long, nonetheless, it does happen. In such case, you have to ask the court for permission to serve the other party by publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the area where that person ws known to live.

This can be a time-consuming and cumbersome process for which you will need legal counsel. By your question, I can see that you are confused. I agree with Attorney Ashman that you should contact a lawyer. Divorce, standing alone, is not all that expensive. People fight over the division of their assets and their kids. If those are not at issue, it will not cost that much.
