Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Obscene Gesture, Threatening Behavior
My husband's brother will shoot birds at my husband and I while driving down the road. If we are visiting the mother-in-law (his mother), he will ride by the home constantly, call the home, and park on the property watching us. He will also follow us on the road. He has threatened my husband and I and defames our character (lying about things we have done). He has cussed us, and has made derogatory comments about my family. He will ride by our home and just stop in the road and stare at us. We cannot visit the mother-in-law without him harassing us. We have to be careful even shopping in town because of the fear that he will try to corner us and physically threaten us. We have one police report against him, documenting the threats and intimidation. What should we do? I fear walking around my property because he may ride by and do something to me. My husband and I have to walk together with a phone, and shop together. We have to check our property constantly because the brother does not like the fact that we own property close to him and that we are building our first home. What are our legal options?

Re: Obscene Gesture, Threatening Behavior
You could get a restraining order from the court ordering your brother-in-law to stay away from you or risk going to jail.
