Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
ownership of pet cat
A former friend bought a cat a year ago. She kept it
other people's dorm rooms because we were not
allowed to have a cat on campus. In the roughly 4-5
months that four of us had to hide the cat, Rachel was
the least present and the rest of us mainly took care of
the cat.
Then in May/June the four of us bought an apartment
together and took the cat there. Still it continued that the
people other than the owner took care of the cat mostly.
Then in August the owner left for Japan for four months
while leaving the cat with me. Now she wants the cat
back since now she will be living on her own and not in
the apartment.
She did pay for the cat and her name is listed as the
owner at one of the vets. The cat is listed as my cat at
another vet. I have paid 600$ in medical bills for the cat.
The other two people have paid roughly 200$ in
medical bills. We registered the cat as well.
The owner is moving into an apartment with a well
known drug deale, that has also fed his pet rabbit pot. I
do not want the cat to go into that kind of environment.

Re: ownership of pet cat
I do not blame you for not wanting the cat to be in that type of environment. As we all know, DRUGS CAN KILL.
I would advise you to sue the owner of the cat in small claims court for the expenses you have incurred.
