having papers served

my husband has been served with the divorce papers in another state- my question is what happens after it has been 30 days and he has not responded to the papers at all?

This is tricky because your local court may not have jurisdiction over him. Consult with local attorney.

It is impossible to answer you. That would depend on what is at issue in your case (children, debts, assets, retirement, alimony, etc) and also what court it is in. You should ask your attorney.
