Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
My parents are not divorced or legally seperated but my mom has left my dad. she left back in may and they had a paper signed and noterized saying that my dad would keep custody of the kids until my mom found a place on her own. my mom came back in august for a few days so she could sign our papers for school but did not list herself as living with us. on the second day of school my mom went to the school and withdrew my brothers from school and took them to another state without telling my father. she has them sleeping on a couch in home where she lives with several adults herself and another man. she refuses to let my father see my brothers. is there anything my father can do to get my brothers back?

He can stop being his own lawyer (getting pieces of paper signed without going to court does not decide custody) and get a lawyer and file for custody/divorce/etc. If he waits more than 6 months he will have to do that in the state where she is. He can still file in Georgia now.
