Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Can a person be sued, if they publicly state that " You should have been aborted, while still in the womb"? This statement was made at my mothers funeral. Many people heard him. He cares nothing for our family.

Anyone can sue for anything but having a valid cause of action is a different issue. Saying something insulting and derogatory - even as distasteful as this - is not generally grounds for a valid legal claim. Otherwise, courts would be overflowing.

I am sure this statement was offensive and hurtful, and made more egregious being said at a funeral. However, there is really no legal action that could be taken.
