Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Do I need Power of Attorney?

My dad had 3 seizures and has lost most of his memory. He doesn't remember his wife(my step mother) of 25 years, but does his children. He needs 24 hr. a day care. His wife is on all sorts of medications and has been for years. She is not capable of making decisions for his benefit. What should be my next step? Right now I'm livimg out of a suitcase at their home that Dad doesn't remember. Any information will help.

Thank you.

Re: Do I need Power of Attorney?

You should consult with a local attorney about having a guardian appointed for either or both of them. The process is too complicated to explain in this type of forum. It will need to filed in the county of their residence, in Probate Court.
