Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Pregnant minor child

My husband's minor daughter is pregnant. His ex has physical custody and has to carry insurance on her. My husband has to pay half of medical bills. Who will be responsible for the baby when it is born? Will my husband be responsible for half of the baby's medical bills also?

Re: Pregnant minor child

I have never heard of such an issue, but your husband would continue to be responsible for his daughter (and not his grandchild) and the father of his daughter's child would be responsible for his grandchild. In order to change the amount of support, his ex-wife would have to petition the court for a change in support. Whether or not the court increases the support based on the new child would be up to the judge and would probably be decided after weighing all of the facts of the situation.
