This probably is not the place for asking whether forms are as good as getting a lawyer. Do you think the items covered in the agreement are worth more than a form off the shelf? What happens if it doesn't work? Much like a will, when you find out it is too late. Further, if you get a lawyer, by all means get a lawyer that does domestic as a primary practice and specialty. You can tell from websites, but referrals are best. There is no reason to retain a lawyer who seeks business in this area, and ten other unrelated areas, when there are plenty of specialists out there.

Like any other forms on the internet, those for Wills, Prenuptial Agreements, etc. are generic, not state-specific and certainly do not reflect consideration of the client's desires. Clients and their situations are like snowflakes: no two are just alike.

Retaining an attorney is your best option. Forms are not necessarily up-to-date with the current laws. Moreoever, they are blind to the individual circumstances that you wish to protect. Furthermore, there can be other aspects of the law that are important, for instance, how the forms are executed and witnessed, that are not evident on the face of the form itself.
