proof of parenthood
If you are not the biological father of a child but you signed the birth certificate as the father are you required to pay child support upon a divorce.

If you get divorced and have a final decree saying you are the father, then you are the legal father. That's called Res Judicata. It has been decided by a court that you are the father, therefore, liable for child support. The time to attack paternity would have been at the time of the divorce.
