I have been married for 9 years and we have two children. The marriage is very unhappy due to his problems with alcohol and I have asked him to leave, which led to him telling me that I will have to be the one to go. The house we live in was purchased by my husband prior to us being married and my name is not on the deed. Is it true that (as my husband has threatened) he can call the police and legally have me removed from the house, while he keeps the kids? And if we divorce, would he automatically get the house?

He cannot automatically have you removed from the house. However, the cops have a lot of discretion in these cases. You should ASAP consult with a local attorney about your situation.
