Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
property settlement in a divorce
My parents deeded their farm to me and they are still living rather than wait for me to inherit it. In a divorce does my husband have a right to the property? We have lived her on the farm for 10 years.

Maybe. There is no way to answer the question with the limited information you posted. While inherited property usually is your separate property in a divorce, in a ten year span there are many thinmgs you, or he, could have done to create an interest in the property.

This is a bit tricky. Your argument would be that (1) if you had inherited the property, your husband would have no interest in it and (2) since this was a gift in lieu of inheritance, he likewise has no interest in it. Consult with a local attorney.
