Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I have recently taken in a pregnant homeless teen.

How do obtain temporary guardianship of her with the consent of only her father? He is unable to take care of her. He did not sign her birth certificate but paid child support for her temporarily and there was a court ordered DNA test administered.

She is now 17 and will be 18 in 6 months as of June

You have put yourself at legal risk by doing this with no court order.

Unless he has ever legitimated the child, and it sounds like he has not, he has no authority as to custody. Paying support and a DNA test does not make him the legal parent, absent legitimization. You need the mother's consent.

One catch with a child that age is that by the time you get everything done the child will be 18.
