Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
remarriage
I have remaaried a man that has 2 children from a previous marriage. He is in the process of taking his wife back to court for reduction in child support due to a change in financial circumstance.I have 2 questions.I would like to know if filing our taxes jointly will allow her to get more money from him. I would like to know also if in the divorce decree his life ins. policies beneficiary is her, can this be changed even though it states it cannot in the decree. I am wondering due to the fact that I have a child on the way and he will be deploying to Iraq soon.

Re: remarriage
You cannot legally change the beneficiary without the court's permission, which you can ask for through a motion. Your joint filing should not effect the support amount.
