Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Remarry

If in a mediation agreement custody would be awarded to me if i accept terms that state that i would sever ties with someone i was seriously romantically involved with and my children had to sever ties with her and her children with whom they ride the bus and go to school with, then later decided to marry this person. I have been dating this person and this person only for 9 months.she represents no harm and is an upstanding, law abiding person and we are engadged but in order to end this 11 month long divorce ordeal i, under emotional stress and great pressure accepted the terms. What are the odds of getting the divorce decree modified to allow me to marry her and our children allowed to see one another?

Re: Remarry

Mediation agreements are generally binding and enforceable, but your post is so bizarre that the best I can suggest is discuss this with your lawyer, who is far better equipped to answer you than anyone else. I don't know that Judges would tend to enforce the type agreement you entered, and, unless you left a lot out (and apparently you did), I can't see a lawyer advising you to sign it. So meet with your lawyer and determine a course of action.

Re: Remarry

Judges have broad discretion, especially where children are concerned. However, many are reluctant to overturn a decree. Consult with a local attorney about the judges in your area.
