Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Responsibilities for debts of my future husband...how NOT to be!!!!

My finace' is a great deal of debt tha he planning on taking care of...however the situation is goign to be prolonged because he is spending the next two years in prison. Between now and then we are going to get married, bu I do NOT want to be financially responsible for his debt. HE must be the one to take care of that. I want to know if I automatically will be responsible if we marry OR how can I go about NOT being responsible for his debts and still be married?

Unless you have signed on for his debts, you are not responsible. Marriage does not make you responsible for his debts.
