Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

restraining order.

My neice filed a restraining order against me. 11 pages of false allegations, incessant rambling; and I have taken effort to prove the allegations wrong with signed documentation, etc. She filed this on January 29, 2007. She is staying with my mother (has been homeless for 3 years, along with her 2 children, husband currently incarcerated). On February 5, 2007, my mother called me 3 times complaining of verbal abuse. The third time my mother called, ,u niece picked up a secondary phone in her house and told my mother and me that my mother (age 72) is to have no contact with me. Does this void the order which states I am not allowed within 100 yards of my mother's residence. My mother is totally against this order. I take care of her and help her with shopping and appointments. What am I to expect in court? In the restraining order,my neice states that they have been living in homeless shelters with no job, yet they used their ''tax refund'' to pay probation officer. I am questioning whether the judge will actually read the documentation and realize she contradicts herself throughout this or if he will accept my documentation to prove her accusations false. What can I expect in court?

Re: restraining order.

Attorneys need to be able to talk to clients in order to determine what might happen in court and devise a representation plan. The only comment that can be safely offered is that if you go to court without your own attorney you can expect to be caught off guard, which will probably make you regret the fact that you did not hire an attorney.
