Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
I am retired/ disabled veteran; and I was granted a final divorce decree with my ex- wife recieving 15% of my retirement. And they now are trying to get 15% of my disabilty retirement also ; that was not included in the decree. I want to know if it is legal to go and change the decision on a final decree without my knowledge. I had an attorney representing me and he stated to me that he was tired of fooling with the case and is sending it up to be done. This divorce case has been going on for three years; but the divorce was final in March 2011 and this just came up today september 12th, 2011. Is this legal because my lawyer is not looking out for my best interest.

No one here has seen your divorce file or paperwork so no one here could even guess at an answer. It would also be unethical for anyone here to interfere in your attorney- client relationship. You either need to ask your attorney, or seek new counsel.
No doubt, you understand that divorces which involve military compensation issues require representation by an attorney who is familiar with those issues and who understands the information needs of the judge who is making decisions on the issues that are involved. Other attorneys will be reluctant to discuss specific issues with you until you establish an attorney client relationship with them and terminate your current relationship.
