Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Do I have any rights?

My wife asked me for a divorce last night. She wants me out of the apartment, her name is the only one on the lease(she manages the community). In addition she kicked and punched me in the face and broke my glasses. Called the police, she claimed that I slapped her. Police did no take anyone to jail, but they did belive me because she kept changing her story and they could tell she was under the influence. I did end up in a hotel for the night. To sum this up what are my rights and how should I proceed?

Thank you.

Re: Do I have any rights?

Your question lacks most of the information necessary to answer.

Your first step is to obtain counsel. As a general rule, courts will not address anyone's "rights" unless a divorce or other case is filed. So if there are things you wish to pursue, see a lawyer about filing them.
