Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
I have been separated for 2 years. My husband is in the middle of his FVA,battery, child abuse and trespassing court case. He does not want a divorce. He has refused to pay me any child support this entire time and only visits his children when he can. He has a girlfriend who takes it upon her self to verbally harass me and I would like to know how I can quickly divorce him and put in papers that she have no contact with me or my children. He lives in a different county would I need to file divorce in his county? Thank you :)

You do have to file the divorce action in the county of residence where your husband resides. You can always go to Child Support Enforcement in the county of your residence and start the paperwork for child support. You do not have to be divorced in order to obtain child support. You can also make an application for an abandonment warrant if the father has not supported the children for at least 30 days.
