I am going through a separation from a 17 year relationship the last 5 being very abusive we were not married but have 3 kids that r legitimated how I file to get our belonging

Georgia courts likely will be reluctant to assist you with belongings since you chose not to be married (the old case of Rehak v. Mathis addresses that. You MIGHT get somewhere in small claims (Magistrates Court) but that is really NOT your issue. Since the children were legitimated you need to get a child support case going.
