Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Seperation/Pre Divorce

I am seperated seeking divorce. What can I do to protect my credit so my spouse cannot run up bills? I live in Mich. and she in Georgia. She also has all of my personal belongings such as tools and clothes and will not give them back. We have been married for 7 months. We have never bought anything together. Can I file for divorce myself? I do have a petition for divorce, will that work? If so do I send that to the County Courthouse? Can she get a credit card in our name now? What can I do so she cannot?

Your best and in the long run, probably the least costly option, is to hire a family law attorney in Georgia, since you will need to file suit there (this does assume some facts that you did not provide).
